Step 1: Dimensional Accuracy & Size Check
The process begins with verifying the physical dimensions and size labeling. Our QC team uses calibrated tools to measure the item against its listed specifications. For apparel, this includes laying garments flat to check length, width, and sleeve measurements. Any discrepancy between the actual size and the labeled size flags the item for review.
Step 2: Color and Material Verification
Under controlled lighting conditions, inspectors meticulously compare the received item's color and material to the approved supplier samples and product descriptions. We check for color fastness, consistency across seams and panels, and ensure the material composition and feel match the expected quality. Fading, dye stains, or material flaws are immediately identified.
Step 3: Stitching and Construction Audit
This step is crucial for durability. Inspectors examine all seams, hems, and stitches for strength, consistency, and neatness. We look for loose threads, skipped stitches, uneven seams, or weak points that could lead to premature wear. For non-apparel items, this involves checking assembly integrity, joint strength, and overall structural soundness.
Step 4: Functionality & Finishing Details
Beyond appearance, we test functionality. Zippers are opened and closed, buttons are fastened, electronic components are powered on for a basic operational check, and all features are tested to ensure they work as intended. This step also includes a final check for any minor defects like scratches, smudges, or dust.
Step 5: Packaging and Presentation Review
The final external layer of quality control assesses the packaging. We ensure the retail box, polybag, or protective wrapping is intact, clean, and bears the correct branding and labeling. Packaging is not just about aesthetics; it must adequately protect the product during storage and transit. Manuals, tags, and accessories are verified for presence and correctness.
